About Pentium Hydro

Founded in 2019, Pentium Hydro is one of the largest dedicated hydrogeological drilling contractors in Australia. We operate and maintain a fleet of 12-late model Foremost and Schramm drill rigs & support equipment across our hydro drilling operations.

These operations see us engaged with some of the world’s largest and most successful mining houses.

A strong commitment to safety and industry best practices are core values at Pentium and this is reflected in our people, our equipment and in how we operate.

It is further enhanced by our Quality, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.

Key People

Sheldon Burt

Director

Sheldon is the co-founder of Pentium Hydro and an Executive Director of our ASX listed parent company, Vysarn Limited.

A drilling industry professional with over 35-years national and international experience, Sheldon started his career in 1986 and since that time has held many differing roles over the years including field based, operational, senior management, executive management and company ownership.

Prior to forming Pentium, Sheldon was the co-founder and Managing Director of SBD Drilling from 2004 to 2011 before selling and moving on to the role of General Manager at Easternwell Minerals for 6-years between 2012 and 2018

Andrew Chandler

General Manager

Andrew has over 25 years of experience in the resources and drilling industry, beginning his career in field based roles and then holding many roles including Safety and Training Coordinator, Contracts Manager, Operations Manager and General Manager.

Andrew’s most recent role as General Manager of Easternwell Minerals from 2018 to 2021 focussed on the delivery of hydrogeological drilling and completion services, exploration and production drilling, with a focus on providing safe, efficient and professional operations to Australia’s largest resource companies. Whilst focussed on delivering maximum financial return, Andrew also delivered on increased diversity and maximised the opportunity for personal progression of all employees.

Andrew holds a Graduate Diploma in Business.

Brad Bushby

Safety & Risk Manager

Brad has 15 years’ experience in the resources industry, in both oil & gas and minerals drilling. Brad’s most recent role was Operations Manager with Easternwell Energy, responsible for a workover operation on Barrow Island. In the preceding 8 years, Brad managed a number of oil & gas workover rig operations, including a plug & abandonment project’s at Thevenard Island, Brunei and PNG. Brad’s previous roles include Regional and Executive HSE Manager roles with Broadspectrum, Easternwell Minerals and Easternwell Energy. Prior to this, Brad worked in the agricultural industry in HSE Advisor and Manager roles, in NSW and Queensland.

Brad holds a Diploma in Business Management, Diploma in Applied Occupational Health and Safety Management and a Cert IV in Workplace Training & Assessing.

Quentin Hayes

HSEQ&T Superintendent

Quentin is a successful Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professional with 13 years experience, of which 11 years have been at a management level. Throughout this time, Quentin has gained a vast amount of experience in HSE and Quality systems, Risk Management and Mitigation and the development and management of ISO accredited systems. Quentin has managed the Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Training function on numerous Tier 1 and 2 operations, particularly in relation to Mining Service Provision, including Water Well and Exploration Drilling.

Quentin holds a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (GCertOHS), Diploma in Business and a Cert IV Trainer Assessor and is a member of the Australian Institute of Health and Safety (AIHS).
